Gift Tags - the Personal Touch
Your wedding is a celebration of your love for one another, and a commitment to one another. If you use traditional vows, you will promise to love one another in sickness and health, for richer or poorer, for better or worse until death parts you. This is a day to be shared with those who are special to you.
You will want to show your guests that you are not so wrapped up in yourself that you have forgotten them. A good way to do that is with wedding favor gift tags.
Wedding Favors
Wedding favors themselves are gifts of appreciation to guests. Couples give them as a thank you for making the day wonderful. The history of wedding favors goes back to Europe, when hosts gave gifts of sweets and cookies. These were handed out to guests in small boxes. Each box bore the guest’s name on a personalized wedding favor gift tag.
Modern brides and grooms still use cookies and sweets for wedding favors, but other gifts have been added in a wide variety. Nonetheless, wedding favor gift tags are still a part of the well-planned wedding. Wedding favor gift tags give you a small, personal way to show your gratitude to guests for attending your wedding. They also make it easy for gifts to go home with their right owners.
Personalize the Wedding Favor Gift Tag
If you will have many guests at your wedding, you will not be able to personalize each wedding favor gift tag. If guests are limited to fewer than 100, however, you will want to take time to personalize your wedding favor gift tags. It will take less than a minute to write each name, sign yours, and add a personal thank you. For a wedding where guests are too numerous, you can select the few that are very close and dear to you, and take time to add an extra message of thanks to their wedding favor gift tag. The others can be printed and names lettered by someone else.
Where to Get Wedding Favor Gift Tags
Wedding favor gift tags are usually supplied with the wedding favors you buy. If you have hand-crafted your wedding favors, you can make simple tags by printing them on “business card” stock available in office supply stores. Punch a hold at the end of each card, and tie it to your crafted wedding favor with a bit of ribbon that will match your color scheme.
SECRET: Some wedding favor gift tags are printed ahead of time with a word of thanks. You have only to sign your name on these. The added touch of selflessness shown by a personal word or two is greatly appreciated, though.
