Wedding Anniversary Favors for a 10-Year Party
Past generations seldom celebrated a 10-year wedding anniversary with a party and favors. Most people remained married for 10 years. It was not thought to be special. Couples gave one another gifts, but wedding anniversary parties were saved for more auspicious milestones. The 25th wedding anniversary was a quarter of a century. The 50th wedding anniversary was half of a century! Those, it seemed, were the ones to celebrate with anniversary favors.
Things Have Changed
A 10-year wedding anniversary party with favors is not as rare these days. The average length of a marriage has steadily decreased over the last 25 years. Couples who married in 1980 could expect to remain married 37 years, on average. Today in the United States, the average length of a marriage before divorce is only eight years. Some last longer, but many do not last long enough for wedding favors.
10-Year Wedding Anniversary Party Favors
10-year wedding anniversary party favors have become important now. Friends believe a couple who has made it through ten years has accomplished something wonderful. They deserve a party with anniversary favors.
We went looking for 10-year wedding anniversary party favors. We began by considering traditional gifts associated with the 10th wedding anniversary: tin and aluminum. That made it easy to find anniversary favors. Here are a few you may like:
1. Tins of mints: These anniversary favors are readily available through wedding favor suppliers. Promotional companies offer a wide range of styles and sizes. Print the couple’s names and date on the tin.
2. Heart-shaped tin boxes with a see-through top are romantic anniversary favors that can be filled with red cinnamon hearts.
3. Imprinted round tins containing lip balm for each guest are good anniversary favors for a winter celebration.
4. Miniature aluminum or tin sand bucket candle holders are good anniversary favors for commemorating a beach wedding.
5. CD tin favors containing CDs of the marriage ceremony, songs, or photos are anniversary favors that will long be remembered.
6. Tiny galvanized tin favor pails come in a variety of colors and can be filled with candy or nuts for cheap anniversary favors.
7. Personalized tealight candle tins are great anniversary favors with name and wedding date printed on the lid.
Our Favorite 10-year Wedding Anniversary Party Favor
Of all the anniversary favors we looked at, our favorite is a hand painted tin calla lily tealight holder. Measuring 3 5/8″ tall by 2 1/2″ wide, these tealight candle holders have a beautiful, sage green base. From the base “grow” three graceful calla lilies made of durable tin. Each is hand painted with attention to detail. Calla lilies have long been honored as a wedding symbol, and this anniversary favor lets you incorporate its beauty in the otherwise unbeautiful “tin” symbol of the 10th wedding anniversary.
